Sanborn PTA’s “Art Reflections” program kicks-off September 12th.  This year’s theme is “The Magic of a Moment”.  Three “Open Sessions” for students to brainstorm and get started are being held 9/12, 9/13 & 9/14 during recess.

Annually, hundreds of thousands of students participate in the “Reflections” program through their local PTA’s.  Students may go on to compete at the district/regional and state levels, with the best-of-the-best entries going to National PTA to be considered for a National Reflections Award. Each year, PTA gives the following awards at the national level:

  • Outstanding Interpretation Awards
  • Awards of Excellence
  • Awards of Merit
  • Honorable Mention

In addition to Visual Arts, student’s entries can include Photography, Music Composition, Film Production and Dance Choreography.

Encourage your student(s) to continue to work on their projects at home; this is an opportunity for them to use their creativity and shine!

More information and entry forms are available in English and Spanish at the Illinois PTA website http://www.illinoispta.org/reflections.html

Artwork and entry forms are to be turned into teachers no later than October 8, 2012.  If you have any questions, please contact Kara Grubbs at karag0913@gmail.com or Nancy Squillacioti at xsimon1@sbcglobal.net
